The Fantasy Faire 2012 is on now & let me tell you, it's really something. Not only is it massive, (spread over eight sims,) it's also BEAUTIFUL, (every sim has a different Fantasy look.) On top of all that, it's also a charity event to benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Make sure you check it out before it's over on April 29th! Besides just a lot of great designers & shops, there are many side events going on. Please check out the website & don't miss out -There are so many great stores participating!

Kiba Tachikawa, owner of Actuate Eden, is one of the many Faire participants & he made some Neko sets for it called Calico MewMew.  There are three different versions, with color change & texture options, etc. on all of them. I decided to model the Rocker version because I liked the spikes, crosses & plaid & I also thought it looked good with my mesh VERSHE sweater. What's new at NOP~!

There have been a lot of changes at the Nihon Ongaku Publishing Hong Kong Shopping Center & Mall recently. As you may or may not know, our Mall is located on an English speaking, Asian inspired sim. Our goal is to spread the love of  Asian music, popular culture and fashion in its many forms throughout Second Life. NOP~ also organizes hunts, fashion & charity events & fairs.

We are so happy that NOP~ & HTxDZ owner Taki Kujisawa's participation in the Fashioncentric Hunt has brought so much traffic to the sim! I have had a chance to do some of the hunt, (not as much as I would like to yet, because of my hectic RL schedule,) but I have to say the prizes are really awesome & I am definitely planning to finish it!

Here are the boots Taki made for the hunt! You must see them in world to appreciate the texture. They look like slightly translucent dragon scales - so much depth.

 

Also, the Hong Kong Shopping Center & Mall at NOP would like to give a warm welcome to our two newest vendors, Lamp*Light & Unforgettable Creations. The Visual Hunt is Almost Over!

It's almost the end of March & that means the Visual Hunt is drawing to a close. If you haven't had a chance to get all the items you wanted, now is the time to do so! BTW ~ I REALLY think you should get the dragon scarf from my friend & NOP owner Taki's shop HTxDZ, not just because we are friends & I think it's extra cute, with the super cool dragon scale texture, (& only 10L!) but because it totally matches the cool ankle boots he made for the upcoming *Fashioncentic Hunt that starts April 1st! He was nice enough to give me the special "Sneak Peek" pair that you see in my picture & I really like them a lot! Wait till you see them yourself! You will be bummed you didn't get the matching scarf if you don't go get it now! (You really have to see the texture in person, it's got so much depth & translucence. It's really pretty.)

PS ~ I also thought this jewelry set from EBDesigns was really cute & the creator made it TRANSFER so I bought like, SIX so I could give some as gifts. The detail is really nice & it's a very charming little set! (This is the vendor picture - I did NOT take this. I wanted to get a photo because I actually wore this quite a bit inworld, but I just never got a chance.) Anyway - Go grab this now, it's only 10L & you get both items! Visual Hunt Still On!

I have been meaning to make a Second Life post for quite some time but I have been having major internet issues, plus, I'm still sharing the "good" computer with my boyfriend until we can get some new parts for his comp. Needless to say it's been a lot easier & less frustrating to just type up some thoughts about Music or World Events on my laggy laptop than try to create a cool look in SL & keep getting booted. I really did want to make sure everyone picked up the items they wanted from the Visual Hunt before it ends, though! If I can manage to stay online long enough I will try to put together at least a few more looks over the next couple of days. (I am also calling AT&T tomorrow. I thought maybe it was the weather, because we have been having some storms but this is getting a little ridiculous!)

Candy Heartbreaker (Belated Valentine)

I meant to post this on Valentines Day, but some desktop computer issues, (which my poor boyfriend Ted stayed up all night & most of the day working on) & my lack of good or speedy photoshop skills & also the fact that I had to take a break to do some first life activities, (like go visit my Mom's new puppy. As you know we were trying to find a name for him. We have settled on "Ricky," but my Grampy wants to call him "Micky," like the mouse, because he's so small, but we don't like that, so we are locked in battle over this, lol,) Anyway, I was only able to use my laptop to post music blogs recently because it won't run Second Life. There are still some issues, but I was finally able to get through a few hours of walking around to gather my SLurls for this outfit I have been wearing a couple days & posing for pictures long enough to deliver you a belated Valentine. It actually worked out ok, because when I woke up yesterday I discovered that my friend Kiba Tachikawa, the owner of Actuate Eden, just put out a great face tattoo inspired by the G-Dragon song & video Heartbreaker that REALLY finished of my Valentines look & if I had posted earlier I don't think it would have been quite the same <3

Ode to Dia de los Muertos ~

Yes, this is a bit late, but as I have posted before I have been having computer problems. My computer is being a real pill, in that it will do almost everything fine, except run Second Life. I am on my very patient boyfriend's computer right now. I have to say, since our move to the new house we bought, he has been really amazing. He has really stepped up to the plate and done far more than his share in helping to get this place together enough to be a home for us. I am really impressed with him and his work ethic. On the flip-side, I have been feeling very melancholy lately, myself. Halloween is a double-sided affair to me, fun, yet morose, as I watch all the little children going through the motions of the childhood ritual. I am an older adult now and it is weird! I don't feel old inside my head, but my body is OLD! I have been going over ideas of age, gender and the like in my head lately and I am not satisfied with all my conclusions. I feel lost so often in life. I feel alone. I thank goodness for my truly close loved ones: the people that put up with me daily and still love me. I love you back ~ More than you know. I would like to dedicate this post to my Nana Jean whose Birthday it was on 11-2-11. Although you are gone, we all think of you daily. You will never leave our hearts and we will love you forever. PS - I miss you Burke. I have a tribute coming soon...

Hello Halloween!

Oh, Halloween ~ I am excited it's almost here, but my excitement is mingled with sadness knowing that it will soon be over. Take a gander at a little look I put together using the Esuga/Sugar Garden Male Ball Jointed Doll FTLO Hunt Prize, (here's a hint on where to find the little bat: "Look to the far East!",) a cool prize that Fatal Error Gave away during the last Twisted Hunt called Inkubus, (LOVE those birdy feet!) and the latest hunt prize from Actuate Eden, (back spines, arm armor, feathered skirt, shoulder and jacket and pants! Punky Heart

My friend Kiba Tachikawa, the owner of Actuate Eden, made this cute outfit a while back and I always wanted to get it, so I finally did! It's called Punky Heart and is inspired by the video from LM.C. It comes with cool legwarmers but I didn't use them so I could wear my faun legs, (which I am addicted to!) I love the floppy arms and the bright colors so much! As I stated, the outfit is a bit older so it came with invisiprim "hand hiders" to keep the hands from poking through the floppy sleeves. I decided to forgo those in favor of some free alpha hand hiding layers I got on marketplace. Oh ~ and the gorgeous doll avatar is from The Sugar Garden. They keep impressing me with their creations and this is no exception! (More on the doll-avatar soon!)
